This technical intervention focuses on Continuous Improvement Practices and Processes within a clothing manufacturing firm. The course brings effect to improvements in efficiencies in two critical areas within a manufacturing plant, namely the improvement in quality standards and production targets.

Practical cross-training and multi-skilling for sewing machine operators

This practical course focuses on equipping operators with the necessary practical skills to become more versatile and flexible and to perform different operations on a clothing manufacturing assembly line.

GARMENT CONSTRUCTION

This technical short intervention in Garment Construction will equip the target audience with basic sewing skills, garment construction techniques, and the knowledge required to construct good quality garments.

Productivity and Work Study

This intervention will introduce learners to Work Study and equip them with both the practical skills and theoretical knowledge as it pertains to Method Study and Work Measurement.

This Quality Assurance and Quality Control Course is geared toward equipping learners with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to bring about improved quality standards within a clothing manufacturing entity.

Sewing Machine Mechanics for Operators

DURATION: 8 HOURS

This basic introduction to Sewing Machine Mechanics will equip learners with an understanding of basic sewing machine repairs as they pertain to two sewing machine types. The skill set acquired will enable the operators to conduct fault-finding and rectify common faults.

Sewing Machine Mechanics for Supervisors

DURATION: 16 HOURS

This basic introduction to Sewing Machine Mechanics will equip Supervisors and Team Leaders with basic mechanical adjustment skills and the knowledge required to minimise machine downtime.

Work Study at Needle Point

DURATION: 4 WEEKS

This is a practical intervention that is implemented at plant level focusing on the identification of factors impacting efficiency. The programme amis to effect and bring about improvements to productivity.
